Been away from the board too long…

November 7, 2006 by leipziger

As the title says, after a couple of quick posts when I launched this blog, I have been extremely tardy in getting around to posting. First off, let me say that the J5 were absolutely fantastic at Manchester Academy in October and played one of the best gigs that I have ever been to! Hopefully, they’ll be back in town soon. Away from the music, it has been great to see that Manchester United are back on song this season. A 3-0 win at the weekend over Pompey, coupled with defeats for Chelsea and Arsenal was a fantastic way to celebrate 20 years of Sir Alex’s glorious reign! Hopefully, the celebrations will last until the season ends.

Not quite as glorious, but still good fun, was the Troll Bowl 2006 Blood Bowl tournament, run by the Ribble Warriors club in Preston at the end of October. It was the first time that I had taken skaven to a tournament, and the results were far better than any time I have taken my necros! I came away with a record of won 4, lost 2 (one of which was to one of the world’s best players, Geoff Porritt). Big thanks go out to Bob and Janice who ran the tournament and who ensured we all had a great time. Hopefully, we can return the favour at the Waterbowl Weekender 2007 in Manchester (feb 17/18 – The North’s Premier BB Fest).

A quick note to end on: I referred to a Dukinfield World Champion in one of my first posts, and thanks to the power of blog, he actually posted here 8-0!

Jurassic 5 Concert Tomorrow

Got given tickets for my birthday to go and see the J5 in Manchester tomorrow. Am absolutely over the moon as I have been wanting to see these guys play live for years, and they don’t cross the pond that often to play in the UK. Will let you know how it goes…

Dukinfield – Home to a World Champion!

October 3, 2006 by leipziger

Who says blogs aren’t informative? Just did a little blog searching on my home town of Dukinfield (Uk) and discovered that there is a Champion of the World in our very midst. Ok, so it is a man who has spent 25 years playing the arcade game, ‘Galaxian’ to achieve his status, but respect is due. Especially, when there are very few of these ueber-gamers
